Ward Leader

Mike Cibik is the 5th Ward’s Republican Leader and has held the position since 2006. Mike received his bachelors degree from Penn State University and followed it with his M.B.A from the University of Delaware. In 1976, Mike graduated with a J.D. from Widener University and went on to pursue his Masters of Law from Temple University. Founding parter of the law firm Cibik and Associates, (Cibik and Cataldo), Mike has held positions of distinction within numerous organizations including the City Policy Committee, Board of Editors of Retainer Magazine, Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and the Federal District Court Historical Society among others.

Since taking over the position of ward leader, Mike has made it his goal to increase voter registration and awareness of those issues that concern the citizens of Philadelphia. Mike has also overseen the increase in the technological advancements of the ward including the creation of the 5th Ward GOP website. Throughout the years, Mike has taught law at Penn State, Villanova, and Temple, and has sat on the Board of Trustees at Temple University. Mike currently resides in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia.
